I never did a Thanksgiving post so here it is. We were going to go down to Utah and spend Thanksgiving with my mom and sisters but they predicted (key word being predicted, it didn't really happen) a massive snow storm so we decided not to chance it. Everyone else had plans so we ended up having our first Thanksgiving with just the 4 of us at home. We cooked everything for the first time and I have to say it turned out to be delicioius. It was a very quite and relaxing Thanksgiving. My favorite part of the holiday had to be when we let Max have some sparkling cider and he spit it right back out in a perfect stream to the middle of the table. haha life with toddlers :) My least favorite part of the holiday was watching "Eat, Pray, Love" I read the book and really liked it but the movie just dragged on and on. Most. boring. movie. ever. I have so much to be thankful for. I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father and my personal relationship with him as well as my Saviour, Jesus Christ. It is so comforting for me to know that no matter what happens in my life I always have my faith. I am also extremely thankful for my husband and kids. They are so amazing and make my life so complete. I love being a wife and mother. This year I was particularly thankful to have Nic home for Thanksgiving. He had missed the previous 2 Thanksgivings since he was in Iraq. Extended family and friends continue to be a blessing to us and as always I am so Thankful for the simple things such as ; food to eat, clothes to wear, and a nice warm bed in a nice warm house. My heart is full and I'm going to challenge myself to be this thankful all year round.
A Butterfield tradition, raspberry pretzel jello.

My homemade pumpkin pie. In-laws recipe, it's the only pumpkin pie I like.

Nic carving his first turkey.

It was delicious. I LOVE turkey!

These 2 munchkins are what it's all about.

Our self timer family picture. haha
